The most beautiful villages in Alsace

Would you like to discover villages with traditional Alsatian charm?

Check out our selection of must-visit villages, just 1 hour's drive from our hotel near Strasbourg!

1. Riquewirh

73 kilometres from the hotel

Situated on the Alsace wine route, Riquewirh is a little haven of peace where you can stroll to your heart's content.

With its cobbled streets, colourful half-timbered houses and flower-filled facades, you can sit on the terrace of one of the cafés and take your time admiring the sights.

History buffs will be tempted by the Tour des Voleurs museum, a former defence tower that protected the medieval town of Riquewirh.

2. Colmar

75 kilometres from the hotel

Known for its magical landscapes, the town of Colmar continues to attract many visitors every year.

You'll love the narrow streets of Old Colmar, with its colourful half-timbered houses, the Tanneurs district and, above all, the famous Little Venice, where the Lauch river flows past.

Our favourite ❤️: take a boat trip on the Petite Venise to discover Colmar at its most beautiful.

3. Kaysersberg

79.5 kilometres from the hotel

Voted one of France's favourite villages in 2017, Kaysersberg has plenty to charm you!

Head for the Sainte-Croix church in the heart of the village: this is where you'll find the most beautiful half-timbered houses!

You'll also find old wash-houses on the Weiss and the Kaysersberg Historical Museum, where you can find out more about the town's past.

Our favourite ❤️: the medieval Schlossberg castle, built in the 13th century and listed as a historic monument. You can admire the view of the village and its surroundings from its tower, which rises a hundred or so steps.

4. Eguishem

82.5 kilometres from the hotel

This is one of Alsace's most famous villages: nestling south of Colmar, Eguishem is a small circular village whose houses were built around an ancient fortified castle.

Now largely destroyed, the medieval castle was replaced by a 13th-century building, which you can discover on guided tours.

After this visit, lose yourself in the narrow streets of the old town and enjoy its soothing, timeless atmosphere.

Don't wait any longer and discover the most beautiful villages in Alsace during your stay in our hotel near Strasbourg, Au Tilleul!
